My love for speaking and engaging with audiences started young. In 5th and 6th grade, I participated in a unique educational experience that included performing Gilbert and Sullivan operettas around the country. After getting lead roles both years, I was hooked. I did not pursue acting or singing, but instead turned my attention to public speaking, debate, and even some politics. In university and in my professional career, I honed my skills in public speaking classes and learning by doing, including formal training in a technical sales role.

Many of my engagements in recent years have been on Zoom or are internal to the organizations, but I do have a few key speaking examples shown below, including podcasts.

November 24, 2024 I contributed to the Annual Fundraising Gala for the Values of Affordable Education Foundation as a speaker.

I have deep experience in digital media. In 2024, I spoke with a former manager at Yahoo, Dr. James Deaker, now The Yield Doctor, about “Valuing Digital Media and Ad Tech Companies.”

I love to interview people about the same topics that I like to write and speak about. For example, I have interviewed two CEOs multiple times about their respective businesses: 1) Bill Sandbrook, CEO of U.S. Cement, and 2) Francis Dufay, CEO of Jumia Technology. I interviewed Data Scientist and author Phylis Savari about her Book, Data for Joy: Restoring Balance in the Age of Algorithms. Here is a short clip:

September 30, 2016 I spoke with the Data Science department at Indiana University. I spoke as a data leader at Yahoo about some of the leading edge work Yahoo was doing with “big data”. This was also the time where I started maturing my ideas about the Insights Supply Chain.

I have channels on YouTube and Instagram where I record discussions about some of my favorite topics: financial markets, economics, and data analytics. The lead video on my Ahan Analytics playlist explains the data strategy I use in my consultancy.
